This is the home page for the Palo Alto site of Project PHYSLab II. From July 1997 to July 1999, twenty high school physics teachers were chosen each year from applications to attend this intensive program where they learned to use technology more effectively in their physics classes.

Project PHYSLab II was an NSF-funded program, following on the heels of a successful 5-year program run by Lowell Herr at Catlin Gabel School in Portland, Oregon. The three instructors at this site were all veterans of previous Project PHYSLab programs at Catlin.

Project PHYSLab II was conducted at three sites: Catlin Gabel School in Portland, Oregon, Millard West High School in Omaha, Nebraska, and Gunn High School in Palo Alto, California. The local director was Mr. Clarence Bakken, who was joined by Mrs. Lettie Weinmann and Mr. David Cross on the instructional staff.

These pages can be used to learn more about the program, to browse through some of the labs developed by Project PHYSLab participants, and to download labs you find of interest to you. If you have questions or suggestions, please contact the webmaster below.
