Day 3:

We are off and running in Palo Alto!. The weather continues to be warm (30^o celsius in the classrooms) and the labs are HOT!. Participants spent most of the day working with the digital timer and its associated apparati. Some highlights of the day included:

• Learning how to use the projectile launcher with the digital timer
• Watching Dave do demos (some of them actually worked!)
• The frustrating but fascinating physical pendulums
• Waves on a string and in a tube with the digital timier
• Peaches (fresh from CB's orchard) and ice cream for afternoon break
  

Participants liked the projectile launchers and spent time in the morning working on the projectile labs. Everyone followed at least one lab through to completion and produced a word document which included their data, the analysis and their own reflections on the experience. Nobody lost a ball bearing, however some claim to have lost their marbles. Will everyone be ready for the projectile challenge? Check back on Friday to find out.
