Heck, this experiment is not mine at all. I just think it's pretty cool that for not much money and not too much time, kids can put together a useful meter and do interesting light experiments with it. Radio Shack electricity and electronics manuals give good, simple explanations for their experiments and cover the basics in a relevant, straight forward way. Below is a shot of the cover of the book used. I used the experiment on page 25, the OP Amp Solar Power Meter.

Parts needed: 741 OP AMP, 1k variable resistor, 10k variable resistor, solar cell, 2 9V batteries
