Conclusions:

Not only is this a fun project to make, but your students learn how to put things together and then take pride in what their work. You can buy light meters for your Vernier or Pasco interfaces, but they cost around $40. This one costs around $8 and it's much more FUN!

Make sure that you calibrate as 0 Volts the room's ambient light. Do this by adjusting R2 so that the multimeter reads 0. Then place the solar cell right in front of the light source and adjust R1 so that the voltage reads around 5-8 volts. Then you're ready to go!
