(T/F) If you are talking about a point mass, there is really no such thing as two dimensional motion.

My Belief:

True. There is really only one motion in one particular direction at any time. We invoke two different dimensions as an abstraction in order to think about the motion. We physics teachers are used to doing this, but our students are not. We need to enable students' thinking in this area.
